Dr. Wightman, When my husband said I snored, I thought he was being mean. I mean, that’s really unladylike, isn’t it? Snoring? Then, at a retreat where I roomed with several other ladies, one of them said in the morning—“Someone on the other side of the room was certainly sawing logs last night!” I wondered—surely that couldn’t be me! A sleep apnea test later revealed that I did, indeed, snore—as well as stop breathing many times a night. Also restless leg syndrome was a factor. But the main reason my doctor sent me for the test was because of the migraines I was having—and he thought that even though I said I slept wall, I wasn’t getting the quality of sleep I needed. A C-PAP was ordered. It worked, but how I hated it! I had to carry an extra suitcase on the plane or bus when I traveled, and I had to have access to distilled water, as well as the clean-up etc. And by now I was widowed, how would my new husband (if I ever found one) react to that awful machine? Then I heard about the APM Positioner and found Dr. Wightman. My life changed. Now instead of an extra suit case, I can carry a denture cup—nothing more. I can talk, drink water and sleep on my side or back without worrying about losing the seal or making a deep impression on my cheek. And it can even be popped into my mouth for a nap in the afternoon. I’ve heard of people afraid to take a nap for fear they would stop breathing. And, by the way, I’m engaged to be married.
